Nintendo 3ds Questions?

I'm thinking of getting the Nintendo 3ds. I have a few questions about it though.

1. If I turn off the 3d part completely, will it have that blue and red affect of movie like affect when you take off your glasses?

2. Will the games that are in 3d still work if the 3d is turned off?

3. Will 3ds games play on Nintendo dsi?

4. What is the 3d camera like? How is it different than a regular camera?

5. Does the Nintendo 3ds have that chat room thing like the first ds?

6. What games do you recommend? (The people who will be playing will be 14+, but really, any age range for games will do as long as we like them.)

7. Does the 3ds have wifi? If so, then can I download social networking apps like kik, facebook, twitter etc...? How does the wifi work?

8. How good is the battery on the Nintendo 3ds?

9. If I'm going to keep the 3d part off all the time, should I still get the 3ds? Or go with something else? If I got a different ds, will the 3d games still work? Here are the games I'm thinking of getting:

- Super Smash Bros
- Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time
- Animal Crossing New Leaf
- Pokemon X and Y (is this one whole game or two games)
- Super Mario 3D world
- call of duty
- LEGO Harry Potter
