My girlfriend wants to become my Facebook friend, what to do?

I have a very serious policy about not becoming Facebook friends with my co-workers. I met my girlfriend about 4 months ago at a conference in Seattle. At the time, we worked at different companies. In the last two months, my company has bought hers thereby making us co-workers. Many of her friends are co-workers of mine, as she doesn't have the same policy. Theoretically, I could just tweak my privacy settings but Facebook has a habit of changing things or rolling out new features which open up or change your privacy settings without your consent or knowledge. I don't think I have anything to hide, but you never know when that odd Halloween photo will be taken too seriously by the HR guy or made public after Facebook changes something.

Would it be better to just delete my account and call it a day?
