Most of the updates Microsoft Windows pushes are to fix security holes that were discovered. The sad fact is, there are people out there who do nothing but find security flaws in Operating Systems or programs and use them to affect your computer maliciously. It's not surprising that there are updates on top of updates, especially if you have a freshly reloaded computer on your hands. Some of these updates that aren't in the initial batch of updates are usually updates TO the updates you just downloaded.
Unfortunately, Windows update system can be a chore, but it's better to be safe and download them all before you begin using your computer. A small tidbit about Adobe and Java. These are two programs, that while necessary to view a lot of websites or watch online videos, are two of the biggest targets for hackers to find security holes into your computer. It's also important to keep these programs up to date. Agent Ronnie V Badge 44515 Advanced Repair Agent Geek Squad Social Media Team 01/08/2014 |
