how can i recover my contacts to notify them that my account was hacked?

Go to contacts, look for the section that says look for with a magnifying glass and type in lost contacts.
This scenario was actually tried by another user and said that she found the contacts in the trash folder. If that does not work then…………………

Restoring deleted or missing contacts, in this case go to mail help, its the gear icon on the upper right of the inbox page. Select help, and on that page type, Restoring deleted or missing contacts, in the upper area of the page that says search. That will take you to all the info you need.
