Can I run in U.S. into any legal trouble in regards to content of spoken word performance (stand-up comedy)?
I'm about to acquire performer visa (90 days) from U.S. embassy with aim to try stand-up comedy around CA, maybe TX.
Can I say 'anything' on stage without fear of legal persecution? Are there any federal or state laws that can lead to charges brought up against me or visa cancellation + deportation from country? I'm talking live performances only, no broadcasted material. I'm sorry if it sounds too weird for a serious question, I'm an EU citizen and have only little to none theoretical knowledge of your legal system. I've recently caught Twitter buzz about some English people got detained, denied entry and deported for a tweet content, hence the curiosity... Ads |
