Hi,

It's not possible for two Yahoo Mail accounts to be assigned the same email address. This situation is usually caused by the sender mistyping an email address.

This past June, we announced the chance to sign up for the Yahoo username you’ve always wanted. We were able to offer this by freeing usernames that had been inactive for at least 12 months.
If you've claimed a Yahoo username that was recently freed up, you may have concerns about receiving emails intended for the previous owner. Please be assured that we're taking measures to prevent this from happening:

* We've proactively removed inactive usernames and their associated Yahoo email addresses from Yahoo Contacts lists: http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN15453
* We're working with commercial mail senders and some of the major online operators to ensure their records are updated so email gets to the right person
* We've developed a new initiative with Facebook called Require-Recipient-Valid-Since (RRVS) - to communicate that a Yahoo username has a new owner (For more information on RRVS, see our related post on the Yahoo Developer Network blog): http://developer.yahoo.com/blogs/ydn/rec...33188.html

If you continue to receive misdirected emails, we recommend contacting the sender and letting them know they have the wrong email address on file. You may also set up filters in your Yahoo Mail account to route the misdirected email out of your inbox, and into a folder of your choice:

"What are filters?"

Thanks!
