Surprise surprise , a left wing Republican isn't so dissimilar from a right wing Democrat -- or more simply the political spectrum is continuous , you simply add up th "points" on every issue and the number that comes out defines your basic politics.

You are generally left of centre -- and therefore a Democrat . Since there are no other horses to pick , that's your runner.
