Website-the way to go?

Hello,

I would like to start a website/blogg. First of all I want you to know that I don´t have much experience or knowledge about this.

What troubles me is if this is the best option, what I truly want is a page on the internet were I can design the site myself, and daily makes changes to it. I want a page were I can easily go in and post pictures, texts and links to Youtube videos.
Is this a good or bad example of getting a website, or is there other kinds of sites I can try ( blogs or similiar)?

From what I understand you need a domain name with ".com" and a web hosting. It doesn´t cost much but what really makes all confusing is the website building part. Let´s say I use Adobe Dreamweaver or Muse (please give me more options of web building softwares), how will I use it. Would I start with creating the website in the software and only then buy the domain and web host? How long time would the coding take? Easy to learn? Is a software with coding the best way to go? I would love to make my site myself but maybe with another program that does not require coding.

I have so many more questions than this, would probably cover the hole page. Anyhow, I hope you got an idea of my confused mind. As I said in the beginning of the text, I don´t have a lot of experience or knowledge so please have understanding.
