Work Based Questions (URGENT)?
Hi,

I just wanted to ask some questions because I am going through a really tough time at work at the moment.

Basically, I posted a Facebook post about 'Richard Coles' on Sunday night. Then I went away from Facebook to watch Master Mind.

On Monday night, I came onto Facebook and found that one of my posts had been flagged up for nudity and pornographic content. I was surprised by this and saw the filthy comments that had been added underneath the post.

To put it mildly, these were the types of comments that were made:

1) That I had developed intense feelings for my supervisor and that I was disappointed that I did not get a christmas kiss off her. I think a comment may have been made about her mother having ample cleavage but honestly I can't remember.
2) That my supervisor was an immature person in relation to my relationship needs/desires.
3) There were general comments about seeing a girl at the counter which sent me into palpatations due to her prettiness and also comments made generally about good looking women from the Education centre.
4) Also, there were comments made on there about my own sex life.

I have already stressed intently that I NEVER made any of these comments and have got my dad as a witness to this fact but its whether or not they believe me and what their investigations turn up because the comments made on Facebook could be traced back to my computer and that would say I made the comments, even though I never did, which suggests someone has taken it upon themselves to hack into my computer and post these things.

An investigation will be conducted no doubt but I find that I can't face this as my reputation and character are going to be drawn through the mud and I am very frightened.

To ask a few questions

1) Before an investigation is launched, can I offer a letter of resignation, effective immediately - whilst I know this might sound as if I am guilty, I just can't put myself through something like that and have my reputation destroyed and have the people asking after the dust settled if he really did it or not etc.
2) Would I still be entitled for pay regardless on the hours I have done?
3) Nobody has come to confront me about this yet and my supervisor who was mentioned in the posts has made a formal complaint and got the union involved and my supervisor has stayed away from me ever since this has happened and working in another office.
4) Should I resign, would there be any further consequences I'd need to be worried about?
5) Do I have to mention my previous employer on my CV if I left under acrimonious circumstances because basically it is now my word vs theirs.
6) Could the content outlined above be classed as gross misconduct?

I would rather leave the organisation on amicable terms than have my reputation destroyed because I am not prepared to go through an investigation when I have done nothing wrong - I have never posted to Facebook anything like this and it seems someone is out to cause troubles for me.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Regards
