I am typing this on my Surface RT device. Nothing wrong with it at all, great device, nice and cheap for a 10.6" tablet. But it is NOT a laptop replacement. It is a tablet.
I use OneNote, Facebook, games, web browsing, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. It is a perfect device for all those.
But, if you want to run 'exec files, then you need more of a laptop replacement. Something like the Dell Venue Pro 8 (or 11) or Lenovo Miix might suit you better.
