I have no idea why anyone is scared of living like the French, the English, the Swedish, the Canadians, all have a great standard of living...socialism is not scary to intelligent people. Besides that we aren't going to be a Socialist Country any more than we already are. Public Education, Medicare, and Social Security are all Socialist idea that are great!

Yet imagine what the country would be without these Socialist programs...a republican dream of the Richest 1 to 2% and the rest whose lives were meant to serve them. I think 98% would choose Socialism in that case.
