Teens: Describe the strictest parents you've ever heard of that are real?

I don't know many details about other people's family lives. I rarely go to other people's houses and when I do, its not long enough for me to get the gritty details on what they allow and believe. And honestly? I don't care to hear about other people's parents.

On the surface, and to be perfectly honest, I think my mother is the strictest parent I know, just based on simple things I see other families doing that I know my mom would not go along with. And, she is not even that strict. She just has her own compass and sometimes lets us do things that other parents think is boderline neglectful, like taking the subway to school without an adult, but also doesn't let me do things that other kids my age don't even think about, like having a facebook page.

Its weird. Seems that my mom is more afraid of the weird BS that happens online than the weird BS that happens in the city. Go figure, but I like that about her. Her way of doing things is certainly unique.

I see how other kids talk to their parents, and I know without having to experiment that if I ever used "that" tone of voice with my own mother she would slap me senseless. Also, I don't think most kids my age have as many chores around the house as I do. My mom is super diligent about us learning common, everyday things and also collaborating in the house.

My mom is very particular about cleanliness, punctuality, manners, responsibility and discipline. She doesn't like sloppy chores or incomplete sentences when we talk. Most kids I know do not really get that kind of flack from their folks.

But, I do not have a bedtime, and I can make a lot of choices for myself, like who I befriend and who I talk to. When I was eleven my mom allowed me to read the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, for example, and I've watched a lot of Tarantino movies, NBK, documentaries on war etc. She doesn't mind a bit of nudity here and there in the things I watch, and I can talk about anything and everything with her, going from sex, religion, drugs, porn, crime, and she doesn't even flinch. I can wear whatever I want, and so can my sisters.

I can safely predict that if in two years or so I smoke a bit of pot, my mother will not care. However, she will have my balls if I drive drunk or high, if I carry a weapon just for fun or if I pick a fight for a stupid reason. She told me once that if someday I am taken into custody, and I know I am guilty of something, to use my one call wisely because she is not going to bail me out if I do something dumb, or get caught doing something dumb. She means it 100%

Yeah, my mom just does her thing. She's not American, her culture and upbringing are very different from what its considered "normal" here. There is also a good chance that she's just a weirdo.
