why is social class important?

Social class isn't important until the highest class available in society establishes themselves as so and MAKES it important. We have social classes mostly because of the psychological innerworkings of human relationships: if you've heard of pecking order or in-group behavior then that's what I'm referring to.
Most humans (like most other creatures on Earth) feel the need to dominate and create a group where they exclusively belong and feel important, and social class is like that. Its unfortunate for the lower class groups, who often suffer injustice at the grand scale level of human pecking orders. |
