You could say "God doesn't like those who hunt for popularity" I think that is in the Bible, maybe with a different wording.

Or you can say "Want me to tell everyone how desperate you are to be popular." That can be a little mean.

Or say this: "Why are you so obsessed with popularity?" I think this is the best one.
