You can hide your friends list.

Go to privacy settings - at the top of the page, it should say "Choose your privacy settings".

Directly under that, click on the link that says Connecting on Facebook: Control basic information your friends will use to find you on Facebook. View settings.

Number 4 on the list allows your to control who sees your friends list.
