Don't mask your IP address. On school wifi it has no meaning, and probably changes every day. What you should mask is your MAC address (which is individual to your device, where IP address isn't). Actually, spoof it (set up a fake MAC), rather than mask it (hide it, showing a blank MAC). Spoofed is harder to block than a masked one. If you can find out the MAC address for a device owned by a school employee (the Head perhaps), that would be "interesting".

Don't forget to unspoof your MAC (show the real MAC address) whenever you are doing something legit, so that the school can see that the "unknown bad person" has a MAC that is different from yours.
