Next Gen consoles vs Smart TV media features?

I am a fan of smart TVs because you can just turn on the TV and access your apps. It is slightly easier than turning on the playstation. If you are on a budget, you can by all means get by with the apps on the PS4. They are typically better than the apps on smart TVs. One problem I had with the PS3 was that the wireless networking sucked. I am guessing the PS4 is better.
