Mormons, is there "revelation" on the horizon regarding gays, due to the bad press?

Polygamy was because if we didn't stop the practice, the church would have been basically gone, considering the entire US government was against us. Polygamy wasn't a saving ordinance either, so it wasn't necessary to keep. Marriage between a man and woman is a saving ordinance and thus would stay.
As for blacks and the priesthood, they were actually given the priesthood since the beginnings of the church. Look up Elijah Abel. Black Polynesians were also always given the priesthood. Some blacks were debarred the priesthood starting with Brigham Young, but I think they were given it back because we realized that Joseph Smith ordained blacks. This also was never official doctrine that blacks couldn't have the priesthood, Marriage between a man and woman is official doctrine. We won't receive any revelation regarding it since Marriage is official doctrine. You really shouldn't gloat so early. It shows your arrogance. |
