Mormons, is there "revelation" on the horizon regarding gays, due to the bad press?

No, it can't happen. It's incompatible with our doctrine.
The change already took place over the past years and with the website that the church did to address the issue. But marriage must have a fundamental element of procreation in Mormonism otherwise Mormonism is false, so it can't change no matter what press of pressure comes. The positive change was phased in quietly in the past several years - we're not a homophobic religion and all are welcome! There could be a gay marriage in a church done by a Bishop someday, that wouldn't shock me, I don't know that I would really oppose it - but an eternal marriage that anatomically omits the opportunity for children would be changing basis of the Abrahamic covenant and can't happen. |
