Long distance relationships are hard.
But, really sex? Is that all you want out from her? Its nice that you respect her decisions too.
Just be straight out with her and ask her out if you are really interested in her.
I have a cousin who dated a guy from CA and she lived in MN and thats like 2-3 days of driving from Cali to Minnesota. He has been visiting her during the weekends for 6 years now and they both are happily married. If you really like her and would go the extra mile then sure, talk to her about it, see what she says.

If you guys do go out, work out how often you both can see eachother and hangout together.
