What do transgender people think about the "gender is a social construct" belief (pt2)?
Many people have said what feminists are really talking about are Gender roles and behavior, not Gender Identity. Here's the issue:
1) Feminists say, "Gender is a social construct". They don't say, "Gender Roles and Behavior is a social construct". They speak of Gender as a whole. 2) They really do mean that Gender Identity is also a social construct because: a - if Gender Identity is how you feel in your mind as male or female, and is about how you express your gender, then what is this identity being based from? Feminists say, from social construction. They never say any aspect of Gender is biological. So, what do transgender people think about this feminist belief? And, what are they doing about it? I have read many up-to-date articles on femininists who are actually against transgender people, even keep them out of female only spaces. Whats up with that? And I have read about some transgender people who are upset about these feminists. What are your specific feelings on this? Thoughts? Thanks. Ads |
