Online courses take a *lot* of self-discipline. There is no teacher there. If you don't understand something, well, it's up to you to read the textbook more or somehow do other research. Often times online classes do have a student forum where students can discuss homework questions and concepts though, kind of like a study group.
Online courses? It's basically *all you*. You have to have the self-discipline to fire up your computer, get on the internet, check your assignments, and *do* the assignments, and make sure you submit them on time. Many, many students who attempt online courses find themselves surfing the web instead of getting their coursework done *first*. Sure, they might go to the school website first thing, but next thing you know they have a tab open for Facebook, youTube, Yahoo Answers, a video game going, etc. Do you think you have the self-discipline to do your coursework first and not be distracted by other websites?
