Should I Get A Facebook?

I'm 16 and just became a junior in high school (Yayyy!) Obviously almost all my friends have facebooks and I've realized that not having one makes it difficult to plan hanging out and parties and stuff. My mom has been trying to convince me to get one for a while now to keep in contact with old friends (we moved a lot), family, and just everyday stuff with friends. Plus now a lot of school organizations have FB alerts. The only thing is I HATE HATE HATE petty drama and can't stand gossip. Also I always worried its too much of a distraction because I'm a crazy procrastinator...buuuut I'm kinda tempted to get one now cuz I don't like being out of touch. So should I get one?? Why or why not? Be honest please =)
