No - I'm always dismayed when people demean women just because they are women. I have a high status job and good people around me so I'm usually given respect (except in Gender Studies) but I see women around me - family - friends and acquaintances getting grief constantly only because they are women - of course I have received this treatment in the past too but honestly I think this is unacceptable in the 21st century.
