How To Change My Profile Picture?

Okay, so I made this really cool looking avatar that looks as close to what I look like in real life as I can with it's limited options and stuff. And I put the picture on my account photo by going to my profile, clicking on the current picture i had, then the avatar picture and the picture on my profile changed. but when i went on the yahoo answers it was still that same "!" and i thought maybe it's terrible at loading on yahoo answers and i went back to my profile and it had the same green background and "!" for the picture and i'm just sitting here with a dumb look on my face thinking why isn't it changing. So I need help on how to change it. Please Help ME!
