How do I REALLY permanently delete my Facebook account?

I've recently tried deleting my Facebook account. Not de-activating, deleting. I followed the instructions and tried to submit a request for deletion. As soon as I fill in the required information (current password and CAPTCHA) I click "Submit". All I get is the message box saying "Error." No reason for the error, no nothing. I tried emailing their Tech Support at info@facebook.com and got this automated response:
"Thanks for your email. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing these issues with our site. Unfortunately, info@facebook.com is no longer a supported channel for Facebook help. Please refer to our Help Center for answers to common questions, solutions to technical issues, feedback from other Facebook users, and forms to contact Facebook. You can reach the Help Center by selecting "Help" at the bottom of any Facebook page or going to the following page:"

Mind you, this Help Center is exactly where I went to delete my account in the first place so it's just looping me around. There is no way to contact a human. Just a cynical "Error." Help?
