Conservatives: How do you address Income Inequality?

The decline in living standards for the average American is the most serious situation in America today. But the facts are more complex than just Mr Reagan's 'Texas Chainsaw' attack on American society.

The height of American living standards was in the late 1970s, since then there has been a nonstop decline. The skyrocketing price of Oil, the Outsourcing of manufacturing jobs, the freezing of Public Sector pay, the spiralling cost of Medical Insurance, all have contributed to Americans loss of well being.

The most ominous cloud on the horizon for Americans now is the proposals to privatise Social Security and Public Pension Funds. This is being sold to Americans on the back of 'the Private Sector is more efficient', no it is not. Typically Private Sector Management of Social Security would see costs of around 30pc for management and other costs.
