That's a momma! I don't know how old you are but she's just worried about you. Sit down and talk to her about knowing the dangers of any social network and explain to the best of your ability why you go on such sites and why you enjoy it. Prove to her that you're not being irresponsible in anyway. Then theres nothing wrong with it. She's probably extremely worried now because you hid it from her and usually when someone hides something it's something bad. In her eyes it's the equivelent of lying to her and doing something behind her back that you should'nt be doing. She's probably hurt as well as worried. So you should talk to her about it because now she probably will "stalk" you even more now because she wants to know what you're hiding only because she loves, cares, and worries about you. You need to set her mind at ease. Even sit there and go through your twitter with her and assure her there's nothing to worry about. If you have things you don't want her to see then I suggest you delete those things before you show her and try not to post anything else you wouldn't want the people closest to you to see. But if you're willing to do that not only will that bring y'all closer together but also it builds trust within the relationship and with trust she won't need to "stalk" you and give you the privacy you want. Moms will always worry no matter how old you are and they're always a bit nosey too. Trust is huge in any relationship. Sounds like you need to work on a better relationship with her and that helps build more trust between the both of you.
