I think tenns who are self harming and unable to deal with may be going to find a way to get someone's attention, after all, it is a effective but uncorrect way. Another reason is that they don't have enough courage to face the pressure of an approaching, so self-harm or eating disorders just a way for them to release their pressure.

If you ask me are their parents responsible, i can't exactly tell you. Because the pressure of life is coming from all aspects, may be he or she lost love just now, or they have resulting from the conflicts in marriage, the frustration in love. In conclusion, we can't blamed it on their parents.

Just as i said before, the pressure is coming from all aspects, many teens may has heavy pressure of life, and they are lack of communication, so there is no one can straighten him out. so.....

I think it is no way to put an end to those self-harm, but we can try to help them release their pressure at the right time, mean while, psychologist are an essential part of this process. Parents also should keep more attention on their children, find the problem and communicate with them, help them to deal with the difficuilties by the right way.
