How do you delete facebook pages that you've made?

Oh Facebook..... I'm hooked as much as anybody, but sometimes I think being on Facebook at all goes against my better judgement.....

The short answer is, you can't delete Facebook profiles. Even if somebody dies, their Facebook profile exists into perpetuity. You CAN, however, delete all the information on a profile page so that nobody can ever see it again.

You should know, though, that you agreed to give Facebook rights to everything you've posted. Technically, this means, they own the publication rights to all the photos and videos you have posted on Facebook, and they do keep a database of your "likes" and other interests even after the information is deleted. They have the legal right to distribute this information to advertisers so that the advertisers can try to send you ads directly related to the things you like most. Once you "leave" Facebook, you are unlikely to be bothered too much by these advertisers. Just understand, we really have much less internet privacy than most people realize. One thing that Facebook is working on is a program to detect faces in pictures posted on their website. From what I've heard, the software is already in the advanced stages of development. This means that, even if you don't attach any names to your pictures, Facebook will know who is in them. The federal government is planning to use similar software on social media websites to help identify criminals and terrorism suspects.
