残念ながら行けませんでした。

I had to work at the hospital during the weekend.
週末は病院で仕事がありました。

I am a doctor.
医師をしているんです。

Did you go?

残念(ざんねん)ながら = unfortunately　
週末(しゅうまつ) = weekend
病院(びょういん) = hospital
仕事(しごと) =work, job
医師(いし) (≒医者(いしゃ)) = doctor
