Studies have shown that the more you handle your snake the less aggressive they are. Like wise if you do not handle them that much they will start to become aggressive. This is because they are not use to being handled much and it freaks them out. As far as the fast movements this will scare them as well which is why your snake has been striking at you. Try to handle your king at least 2-3 times a week. I had this issue with my king and now she is very gentle. Check out my facebook page at Corn Snake Facts and Questions. I know it says corn snakes.
