Social hegemony example?

My assignment is to make a 2-5 minute video explaining hegemony and to use an example not discussed in the book or class. I understand hegemony to a degree, but I want to do more of a media/social hegemony rather than a military- or government-related hegemony (if that makes sense?)

I know oversexualization of women/masculinity hegemony is going to be a fairly overused topic in my class. I would like to do something over mental illness or another social topic of the sorts, but am unsure of examples within these particular topics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! (If you feel I don't grasp the concept of hegemony properly, feel free to correct me. I'm slightly confused.)
