A marriage of convenience to gain entry to Britain....should this bigamist have known better?

Some people are just stupid. This is one reason Britain doesn't allow foreign nationals to marry in Britain without a fiancé visa, and to get that, the Home Office wants proof of a genuine relationship that has lasted for at least 2 years. Other countries aren't so strict so these two could do it in The Gambia.

The girl is an idiot too - if the police catch up with her, she will be deported as she does not have a marriage visa. Assuming everything went to plan, marriage isn't enough to allow her to live with him in Britain. She needs a marriage visa to have permission for that, and would then be able to get British citizenship and a passport at the very least 3 years later. And then only if they are still together.
