With my mixed views, am I a social moderate?

Many of the things you say you are liberal on are actually closer to libertarian views, which many believe lean closer to conservatism than liberalism.

Also, as crime associated with jail overcrowding, drug use, and organized crime in Mexico increases, the idea of legalizing or lessening restrictions for some drugs is gaining more support even among some conservatives. Libertarians support it today. Liberals might merely see it as something more to tax.

I'd say you're actually conservative more than anything else.

In my case, I'm a strong conservative except on immigration policy, where I side more with liberals although not for the same reasons. Every pro-immigrant, pro-"amnesty" thought I have I can support with conservative principles. So figure out your base principles, what you believe government should do for people, and then take your issues one by one and explain them within context of your given principles. Modify your views as needed based on that, and try to avoid letting personal emotion interfere.
