You have to wait until you are on a computer.Yahoo no longer provides avatars however you can create one from other free sites see the links below.
Choose either a cartoon or a photo avatar you had saved to your pc.

Close and reopen your browser or reboot. and your avatar should be showing If your avatar isn't showing try resizing it to make it smaller.
