Well first of all, 14 to possibly 17 is an iffy age difference. He probably knows that as well. He will be legal very soon so your best bet may to just be friends. As for getting closer to him, you can continue to direct message him and if he likes you or is interested, he will ask for YOUR number. But like I said however, be careful. Just try to be his friend first and if he likes you enough to talk to you more, he will definitely ask for your number. Dont ask for his.

Just keep talking to him over instagram and twitter and you guys will get closer. If he enjoys talking to you, odds are he will ask for your number, it just happened to me recently Smile good luck!
