Why are kids trying to seem more "mature" than they're supposed to be?

Well you seem really angry. Your talking about 8YEAR OLDS hello, where are their parents?
I mean its true that the world is changing and childhood lasts only so much but it also depends on the way people are brought up! My sister is 14 and goes out with her friends to movies only if my mum drops her off and picks her up. But she ain't allowed over friends houses and defenitly not partying.
You teach a child whats right and wrong and they learn from it. Parents have control of the child until they are 16 so they can make sure that a child has no access to facebook, mobile phones, youtube etc.
But they can never be perfect because they do also have outside influences at school but you can ask teachers about your childs behaviour.
Adults are the boss!!!!!
