You just say "Hello" back to him. It's possible that he feels bad for how he treated you in HS and is trying to make amends.

If he wants to friend you on Facebook, friend him. But, for a while, keep him on your restricted list so he doesn't see everything you post. It takes a while to trust someone who has, in the past, been cruel to you, but you need to remember that people change...they grow up. Maybe this is what is happening with him.
