All I will say because it applies to many situations is that the more you come off as "needy" , the less you will get what you want from others. Period. Neediness has a repelling effect and gives your power away to boot so it is a lose/lose proposition for you. Try to be more self contained. Develop an appreciation for all your good qualities. If you really want to be a journalist you will have to ditch the need for approval from others- otherwise get into a different field.
