Girl I've been talking to recently said she needed some time (bear with me, long story)?

Met a girl online (I'm 23, she's 19) about a month ago. Talked for a week on the site/texting eventually. Then things moved fairly quickly once we met: Slept at her place the first night we met (Saturday 2/1 no sex), she slept at my place back-to-back nights the following weekend(2/7 and 2/8 sex on both occasions), went out to dinner for my birthday this past Tuesday, she slept over again (2/11) and that's when I noticed she was a little more distant.

*IMPORTANT* She kept texting the same guy, Matt, and mentioned that he was a 28 year old Australian father of a 5 year old she nannies. He was asking her to come over, flirting, etc. and she was responding with the same flirtatiousness it seemed. She told me not to worry, she just wanted to get paid well. I put it out of my mind but noticed she wasn't as cuddly as she had been previous nights. I asked her what was up and she told me some really personal stories of her past, and that she was "darker than I knew". I really like this girl so, the next morning before she left, I asked her what she thought about being bf/gf and she responded with "Just give it some more time. It's not a bad thing you asked, but give it more time." I felt kind of weird about it, like I rushed her, but felt fine about her response. A day went by and I thought everything was fine, although we hadn't texted all day(2/12).

HOWEVER, last night (2/13) before going to bed I checked twitter and saw she had tweeted, at 1 AM mind you, "this aussie though ". My heart sank, I got cottonmouth and couldn't sleep at all. I've been trying to piece it all together but my friends tell me to give her some space and if I still feel weird by Monday, confront her then.

I sent her a Happy Valentine's Day text when I woke up and it said she read it, but haven't received a text all day.

I just need any advice/help on what to do here, if anything. Idk if I should text her, give her more time, or just give up on her. My friends told me to either give her more time then confront her about it when shes ready to talk or just move on and find another girl.
