How do I delete my Facebook account rather than just inactivate it?

I think deactivating means also your account will be lost. Just enter in the correct security passwords.

On the right side of the site there is a "Account" drop-down menu. Click it and go to Account Settings. Click the deactivate on the Deactivate Account portion.

That should be all.
