Atheists: why dont you agree that catholicism can actually make people better informed
- They are better informed about fantasies, but not reality. i think that devout catholics are less likely to have the viewpoint decided by the media. - That is where thinking comes in. You "believe" and accept whatever fantasy the church tosses to you, we "think" and understand the difference between fantasy and reality. for example catholics are less likely to believe the nonsense peddled by the likes of rupert murdoch - People who think can do that also, we do not need to be told what to think. where i live in britain people believe what papers like the sun and daily mail tell them - Stupid people exist everywhere and you cannot cure stupid. Churches recuit those people and it keeps them out of trouble UNTIL they decide they have to recuit EVERYONE, then we have a problem. if these people were catholics they would surely know that they could not justify what is written by those papers - If they could think they could do the same thing. the difference is the WE think for ourselves, you have the church think for you. |
