Why is my Instagram connected to Facebook?

When you post a photo to instagram it gives you the option to check Facebook and twitter for sharing. If you don&#x27;t click those none of your pics will go to Facebook but if its still showing up that you have an instagram on Facebook then I would probably make a new instagram and don&#x27;t link it to Facebook period. And why are you hiding your instagram from your friends anyways isn&#x27;t that the whole point of having it to share photos with friends&#x2F;family?
