Facebook's algorithms only apply to the main newsfeed (Home) page if you sort by "Top Stories" instead of "Most Recent". Posts and comments disappearing and reapparing in profiles is a known issue and is being worked on. Facebook is currently having technical issues converting all the remaining profiles over to Timeline format.
