How do you shrink a picture so all of it fits as a display picture on fb ? :/?

The technique you require is called "Seam Carving".
Photoshop calls it Content Aware Scale.
This free program will allow you to choose areas of your photo to remain the same while expanding or contracting other areas of the image.
