Simple Facebook app question?

ok when you start passing parameters within a facebook app to itself & if that happens to be the index page or something. Facebook Just removes your params & add their own Info that needs to be pass to your application. This ofcourse only happens if you are on a Canvas Iframe. you could although use the PHP SDK to make an independent page that connects to facebook through their API

or you should probably put an iframe in the same page you are on and set forrm target="iframe_name"
and do the rest with Javascript.
another way to do it is to use. AJAX with Javascript.
