Lying about age on Facebook?

Honesty is always the best policy. Always. Bending rules is a temporary fix only.

That said: I refuse to teach my kids to lie. I am the parent you see. So what I say, goes. They will not - and have not had a facebook or any other social networking account until I say so.

And when I do allow it, it's on my terms, not theirs. I get access to all accounts, I get their userids and passwords, I can log in whenever I choose and I'm also a friend. I don't hide the fact that I'm the parent.
This goes for anything online. Offline too.

Most of their friends think I'm pretty cool.

That's because I'm the parent. I am not a friend and it makes a big difference.
