Are there regulations against creating a fake facebook profile?
I'm planning to start an alternate reality game (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Ma...alityGame) in a few months, and for part of the immersion aspect I wanted to create a fake facebook profile for my main character, where followers of the series could "add" her as a friend and follow the story. Are there rules against this if its not for the purposes of spam/porn/pornspam?
I do have another email account I would use so that I could register it, and I'd probably include a small disclaimer in the "About Me" section somewhere. I just want to know if there's evidence of people who have used this before with this intent and had problems, or if its specifically outlined somewhere. I just think it would really suck and might break the immersion if it was randomly deleted, particularly if its at a key point in the story. Other ARG's have used multiple twitter, tumblr, and other profiles for their characters, but my character in particular is definitely more of a facebook person. Ads |
