Snapchat is pretty fun and can be great to send those terrible selfies for a second (without your friends screenshotting it of course). But I think Instagram is a bit more like a blog, is it can be a way of posting photos of what you've recently be doing and to catch up.
My personal favourite is Instagram, but you asked for my opinion.
